I have never heard of this being done on a Max. Don't think anybody makes an aftermarket TB for us.

Maybe only for 4th gens.. but people put Nissan Pathfinder TB's on due to the larger dimensions... no ones really proven a lot of gain I don't think

A bigger tb won't do much for those with just bolt ons. for FI apps, a bigger throttle body will help out noticably since you're forcing that much more air into the engine.

Changing to a bored out tb will give a small amount of gain, but will hurt more than actually help performance. Your air/fuel ratio will be bad considering the increased amount of air coming into the upper plenum. If you have a CAI this issue only makes the matter worse. When doing this modification you want to have other mod's to back it up. Such as: APEXi S-AFCII, Bigger Fuel Injectors, Headers-Y-Pipe, Cattback Exhaust, etc. If you decide to swap your tb for a bigger one w/o modifying fuel your car will be running like garbage (extremely lean). Not enough fuel to air ratio.

Actually, the MAF helps the ECU compensate for the additional air flow. The difference of air flow is very minimal. What you will gain is a bit of throttle response. Also remember that since we have a throttle by wire set up, the ECU can limit how much the throttle opens for any given pedal position.

You can easily test it if you have a 2k or 2K1. There is a spacer sleeve inside the throttle body.

As fasr as I know the ppl that removed it said they felt low end torque loss and felt a little gain in the upper rpms.
