Have a Y-pipe and LTB, step in...

Was about to get a y-pipe and then it struck me that I would probably have to take my stage 2 LTB off to install it. For those of you who have put the LTB on, it's quite a PITA. Anyhow, just wondering if anyone had managed to get the y-pipe on WITHOUT taking the LTB off.....

anyone?

one of the reasons I ask is that if I get a y-pipe, I'll have to pull it off in August for my emissions inspection (most places around here do a VISUAL inspection too, to see if your precats are there) and then put it back on....that is why I would rather not take the LTB on and off every year

the LTB witht he 5 spd is cake. it takes me literally 10 min to remove on every car I've done it on..

but yes, you MUST remove the LTB to get to the Y pipe. no way around it, unfortunately.

that's what I was afraid of.....

the LTB is less of a snap unless you have poly bushings....it's not easy to get under the car with it on the ground to torque the bolts as must be done with OEM control arm bushings....removing it is the easy part (I've taken it off once before)......

on a related note, would this still be the case with the Stage I LTB??
