In Cabin Micro Filter

Since this site won't let me search, anyone know the cheapest place to buy a in-cabin micro filter for a 02 Maxima SE.

Cheapest I found was $44, delaer wants $80 to replace mine. I currently have 25K miles and had it 3.5 years.

Also is it hard to install. Doesn't look that hard by the instructions here,

Not very hard at all to DIY. The only thing you have to be careful of is not unplugging the airbag. Also, the first time I did it, I had trouble getting the whole thing back together, lining everything up to screw back in. Courtesy Nissan is where I get my filters. Not necessarily the cheapest, but I know I'll get the part.

You can also just clean it instead of buying a new one. Use soapy water and wash it around, then let it dry. Boom, saved you $44. How-to:

last time i checked that howto he said remove 4 screws. (i think he changed it when i brough it to his attention) you actually have to remove 5 screws. 2 that hold the clip 2 in the corners and 1 in the bottom right (in between where the two trim pieces meet) from what i remember about doing it it's easier if you first remove the plastic trim piece that runs parallel to your door sill.

I did mine at 24k miles. No problem but turned out it wasn't even dusty. Anyone see any dirt on their original element?

You can add it. Use the same procedure as the 5.5th gen. It's behind your glovebox.

you've been here since 2003 so there's really no excuse for not knowing that you should read the stickies.

I have never been able to figure out what the "glove box finisher" is either. Perhaps it
was something on certain models.

that depends on wether or not it was a factory option. If it came with the car when purchased new, then wash it out and re-use it. If you bought it as an aftermarket part, then you cannot wash and re-use it.
