you know what they say... to each is own... carputer is not a bad idea.a nice do it yourself project and if i had that much time on my hands i would do it .. but i'll stick with N2 all in a nice compact package

cheapest place to get N2 = internet, but very shady warranty policies.

i suggest you go to Don, he gives orgers discounts.

i can't discuss price on the net, but give Don a PM in the audio forums.

As for Mp3's on DVDR, hmmmmm.....never tried this one before, but i think the HU will read it as a regular DVD and maybe not play the mp3s?

no idea really.......

As for carputer, not a bad idea, but way too much work and a B!tch when u wanna take it out and install on another car.

Besides carputer have no resell value, at least dvd headunits do have some resell value.

I ment if i record it in a data format ...shouldnt it be read as a data format cd.. it works on a computer works in a regular dvd player ....possibly might work in N2

It seems that money isn't an issue for ya... but I just wanted to point out that cat-backs are one of the worst mods in terms of $/hp ratio... I hope ya considered that. Its mostly sound and looks you're paying for. Don't get me wrong, its a nice exhaust and I'd get one too, but don't expect incredible performance gains from it. It'd be more worth your while getting a b-pipe and saving the stock muffler....

That way ya save some money for headers or use it to complete the suspension set-up, ie. LTB, RSB... or spend it on other electronics like you're already talking about...

Yea i think i have enough power for now ... too many tickets as it is.
i'll get the N2 and change the door speakers ..get rid of the remaining Blows components from the car.
once the warranty is up, i'll get the headers/exhaust.
after all my car is auto.. one thing that i will always miss about this car is stick. otherwise i am exptremely happy with it.

not only that but sometimes when i want to switch from mp3 to dvd or to radio or navi, depending on sequence of events, it even takes up to 3 seconds to accept the new touch screen command given to go into another source.

yea, the eclipse has no buffer for mp3's. The older one does though (AV 8022) which i used to have. I thought it was because of the type of cd's i used but i guess thats just how it is. Small price to pay though. I never seen the pioneer displays but the new eclipse look nice as h#ll. I'm very happy with them. SQ and all, i've never been dissappointed with eclipse. The ONLY problem i had with this HU was that mp3 thing but its not as bad as it sounds. In fact, mp3 has so many tracks on a cd, i just throw it on random and never even realize the slight hesitation. Its only there when u manually choose a song like 3 pages down or something, and its more like 2 seconds .

Pioneer AVIC-D1

Double DIN 6.5" lcd with navi! Can't play dvd movies, but has a video input for that PS2 or Xbox this is what I am probably going to do. And even though it has the g sensors that the N2 has, it wont disable your movie watching when moving because it uses the input as a rear view camera!

It looks factory in our cars because of the double DIN opening!

Here ya go http://www.maximumtuning.net/ the answer is under transmition link,

just in case you are lazy to click on the link.
3 stages.

1. stock upgrade-Improves shifting to extend tranny life without sacrificing a comfortable ride.

2. street/strip- greatly quickens 1-2 shift and slightly quickens 2-3 shift to improve tranny life(especially on vehicles with modified engines) Good for everyday driver/weekend racer looking for sreetable performance.

3. Race-Very hard 1-2 shift. Car will most likly "chirp" wheels under hard accelertation. Hard shifts will be noticed at all times.
