On Saturday night i decided to take my max to philly for the first time and see how i could run against some of the mustangs and camaro's down there. I ended up getting into a race with a 94 Prelude Si 5 speed. (160hp non-vtec one) He stayed with me through my first gear, but once i shifted into second i pulled more than half a ca length away and kept pulling all the way until i hit 95 in 3rd and then hit the brakes. I never thought those lude's were so fast, i guess it has to do with the short gearing and the fact that they weigh about 500 lbs less than the max.

 

Ok, I take it you won, but by the way you say "until" and "I never thought ludes were so fast" makes me think that he caught up and beat you.

 

no, i guess i neglected to say that i kept pulling away until BOTH of us hit the brakes cause we were at the end of the street. At 95 mph i was almost 2 car lengths in front of him, and the same thing happened the second time i raced him. i won

 

Good win x 2. I was looking into getting a 2000 or 2001 Prelude before getting my max. I saw a race in where a Prelude and an Integra with a bodykit and bright cluster lights where line up at a light and I was behind the lude. Both where off at the green and the lude whooped him so bad, no contest. I was impressed with how fast he took off. Thats when I started looking into the ludes but there so expensive. Anyhow I love my maxima so it doesn't impress me anymore but my maxima does everything I take a moment to look at it. Take care buddy.
