I am looking to pick up a Stillen lip for the Max, but I don't want to have to have someone paint it when I can do it myself for much cheaper. Has anyone painted their own? I would be doing it in Super black.

 

Yeah bro, we did painted my own Stillen lip by ourselves (me and my dad). We actually repainted like half of my car by our selves, and getting ready to paint by brother's Acura TL. We use our own compressor, paintgun, etc. Well what do you wish to know?

 

I have a paintgun, and I could rent a compressor. Namely, what kind of paint do you think I should get were I to do it superblack? ...and what brand of clearcoat?

Well go to the paint shop to get your paint, ask them and they'll find you a superblack paint. If your car's color is superblack then you better tell them the car paint # which should be on the bottom of your hood or on one of the trunk stickers, don't realy remember. But to get the exact car color for your lip, you need that car color #. About clearcoat, we used VALSPAR brand for my car and it worked perfect.
