Rear brakes (Hawk HPS or OEM)

I know I shouldn't neglect the REAR brakes, but is it worth the money for Hawk HPS vs OEM?

Those are the 2 choices I'm considering right now. If anyone has a better suggestion with a good balance of value and performance please feel free to suggest.

thanks

Both are quality products. Pick the one you like. See here for more info: http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaBrakePads

Since the rear brakes do a much smaller percentage of the actual STOPPING, I don't think there is a huge gain to be made in swapping.

It REALLY depends what you are running up front?

I'm a big believer in matching components, and you really SHOULD have similar pads out back as you do in front. Rotors could be a different story.

I just changed my pads and front rotors last week, but left the OEM rear rotors in place.
When I removed the OEM pads from the rears, they had at least 50% left, and the rotors were in good shape.

For me - I wanted to TRY to improve the stopping power and feel, while TRYING to preserve the life of my OEM rotors.
Hawk pads seem to have a better chance of this than the OEM pads WITH better performance.

It's really a judgement call.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I'm staying OEM on the rears.

I changed the front ons with Powersloys and Hawk... stopping is better than OEM, in the rear I kept the OEM rotors and OEM pads... no need to me , to spend money in the rear.. cause my car still stock
