What Springs??

Ok, I have a 2001 Maxima Gle with 19" Rims on 225/35/19's I AM NOT going to change my struts right now I am looking for springs that will not bounce all the way down and hit my tire when I hit a bump. I am thinking I need more or a racing type spring (stiffer) than a bouncy sport spring. Am I right and what do you recommend??? Im kinda on a budget so anything under maybe $200 SHIPPED? Thanks

ha!

i had this three paragraph reply typed that started out as a how to read a sticky thread- but surmounted in a euthanasia intervention.

instead, just take the spring/strut off, bite the lower mount and remove the top hat. that should lower you just fine.

That's classic!!!! Your tire/wheel diamter is actually smaller than it was when you first bought the car. You can get any spring for under 200, personally I would go with progess. ($168 shipped)

The reason you get flamed is because you have the option to search and the thread starter doesn't, so you have a better chance of getting flamed since you have and don't use, besides all this stuff relative to this post and many like it, is in the stickys and you don't even need to donate and use the search function to read the stickys, laziness =

Personally. I wouldn't buy springs without buying new struts. Alot of times when you replace the springs the stcok struts aren't meant to be compressed all the time and often wear out faster then normal. Atleast that is what i have read a few times here on the org. But for your price range, you can get the springs now and then pick up the struts later on!! good luck man.

Tien S are known to be stiffer but do not give an even drop, check out housecors site for pics of most if not all popular springs ... it's in the stickys which are located on top of every forum... Read those for a while and then post back, if not you'll be treated with a little bit of anomosity, and we don't want that.

Yes, watch out for me, I'm the big bad wolf...

You didn't search despite being a donating member and having a very good search feature available to you. I vented in OT instead of calling you out in these forums, so be thankful. Besides, I did give ya link ya needed.

good point... if you're getting lowering springs, stiffer struts are always recommended....

Instructions are in the Stickies, along with the FAQs, How-Tos, etc and all the other stuff ya shoulda read before posting.

Progress springs are less stiff than the S-techs, but the struts matter more... I have Progress with HPs and they're kinda bouncy cuz the struts don't damper enough....
