Hood making noise

Riding over small bumps and road imperfections at moderate speeds I seem to notice a rattle coming from the engine/hood area. I assume it's the hood rattling. I only have 26k miles on the car so it shouldn't be the suspension. Has anyone else seen this and what did you do as a remedy? Thanks for the help.

i had the same problem, just twist the rubber bumpstops (which the hood rests on)counter-clockwise so that the hood is more snug when closed.

i did that, and it didn't really help hood flutter at highway speeds, and it made the hood noticably higher...the hood didnt match up with the fenders and there was quite a big gap in between the hood and the headlights, so i twisted them back.

Take some thick 3M clear tape and wrap it around the hood latch a couple of times. I had the same problem with mine a while back, and that worked great.

those bumpstops are the fix
if that doesn't help, then remove the pistol you carry under the hood

WD 40. My hood did the same thing so I sprayed the hook assembly with WD, and now, no more noise.

I just lowered the hood latch, there are about 3 or 4 screws on it, I loosened them and moved the entire latch assembly down a tiny bit, Problem solved!

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried raising the bumpstops and it seemed to make it worse. I'll try the other suggestions. Is it my imagination or are we supposed to have a rubber guide above each fender. There is a slot where a rubber bumper guide could sit in but nothing came with the car. If we could find something to put there it might keep the hood more snug. I put some guide stops in there from a Gen 4 but they were to small to fill the large gap between the hood and fender.

I saw a TSB a while back about hood flutter and the fix was a couple of rubber strips that attach above the headlights and a third rubber bumper installed front, center of the hood behind the latch.

You are correct....there is a TSB for that issue....
