I just roadkilled an Acura GS-R Sedan. He obviously had a 5-speed (I could hear from the shifting sounds) and some sort of aftermarket exhaust. I think he even had his AC off because he had his windows open. I, however, ramained in the lap of luxury with the AC turned on and the windows up.
He had been behind me on a one-lane road, and I was driving a bit slower than he wanted me to (he was tailgating a bit). Then the road splits right before a red light, so that there are three lanes -- 1 that turns left, 1 that goes straight or turns left, and 1 that turns right. I pulled to the left lane, and he pulled up next to me in the center lane. Usually the slow-pokes pull into the left lane here, and the more adventurous get the center lane, then everyone goes around the double left turn onto an access road, and the guy on the right side floors it to get around the slow-poke on the left in order to beat him/her to the on-ramp of the highway.
The light turned green and I let my foot slip from the brake to the gas. I didn't immediately floor it, because I knew I was sitting on the paint stripe and it would definitely spin. Even still, it chirpped the right front just a bit. After the chirp I heard his engine making LOTS of noise, but I couldn't see his car. So, I just politely floored it. When we got to the turn-section I kept on the gas and did it at about 28-30 mph (it's less than 90 degrees). Once on the straight I floored it again. I sure heard a LOT of engine noises and shifting going on behind me. By the time I got half-way up the on-ramp he was about 2 lengths behind me, and I was doing about 85. I had to hit the brakes pretty good though in order to merge with the slower traffic on the highway
. Traffic on the highway ended the race, but we both knew the winner!
VTEC, 5spd, exhaust. Whatever. Couldn't beat my grey auto familymobile. Why did I title this "Sleeper"? My baby boy slept through the whole thing in the back seat.
