Why are wheel spacers so expensive?

I would sell studs with the spacers for 15mm or greater. That's what H&R does, and i'm sure they have a good reason for doing so. 15mm is just on the frindge of being too long for stock studs.
Quality lug studs are a must especially when pushing the car. Whatever you do, please don't use these types.
Extender type lug studs
Why? Because...
Video - not enough threads engaged on lugnuts

its a great write up and nice compariosn pics. seems like a easy job. hey, did the rear sit flush with the front with those 20mm spacers? or does it stick out a little furhter than the front. cuz im thinking about putting 10mm in the front too. the front also looks tucked in.
just poking my nose in to say I'm interested in some spacers if the numbers look good.
Do you mind if I ask what grade aluminum you are going to use? I'd just like to check a textbook or two and a wheel guru to make sure there will be no suprises.
Are you going to do 10-12mm spacers for the fronts too? There seems to be a consensus on that thickness for the front.

Guys,
sorry i've been laying low...
The parts are supoosed to be machined any day now, I have located a longer stud supplier, he is going to send me a sample so I can check it out. It will be about $3.00 per stud, so that's $15 per wheel, not quite as high as the Nismo studs. I don't even think the Nismo studs will work in our cars, the knurl diameter is 13, our diameter is something like 14.35. I'm heading out of town for a week, so I'll be really low key for a little while, but I am still working on it, it's just I'm at the mercy of my supplier, who has me on the low priority list. I'll also let you know how the stud looks when I get my sample, it is supposed to be 63mm long, which would be perfect because our current stud is 42mm long, it will fit very nicely with a 20mm spacer... I just hope it fits...
if not, we may be S.O.L.

The rears do stick out a little more than the fronts. I'm wanting 10mm to put in the front or at least 5 mm. I would stick 10mm on the front if u can find it cheap and that's what i am waiting for is a cheaper set of front spacers.
shoot mine cost under a dollar for a all four wheels, i just used washers from osh....

the good ones are expensive because the machines they use are expensive, you have to take the cost of their overhead into account...
lets say the raw material only cost 10bux per spacer, so that's 20bux a pair, then it cost 70/hr for the tech to machine it, and lets say each pair takes 30min to make on the cnc machine so 55bux, then they have to sell X amount to cover for their 120,000 dollar machine that made that thing, so they'de have to bump the price up, and then there's property tax if they own the place oh yah, and they have to pay for mortgage, and electricity bills, prostitutes, and waste disposal fees. so it all adds up and that's why it's expensive
having known that knowledge, i still dont' care, i still only wanna pay 10bux for a pair of spacers, i can't help it i'm cheap.. my eyes are slanted. hAhAHA..

Hey Guys,
I just got back from vacation and my supplier does not have the parts cut, darn it... anyway, it may be a while, I also have not heard from the stud supplier, there is supposed to be a sample on the way to me. Sorry about the delay, it's out of my hands though
