Need Help - (Loosing Clutch Fluid)

Hey Guys,
I appologize now for the length of this but I am trying to include as much info as possible.

The other day I left for work and noticed that the clutch felt a little "soft" but was still working fine. I was going to check into it when I got home but when I left work I couldn't get my car into gear. Clutch pedel was stuck at the floor with about 2" of movement. I was able to get the car into gear so I could leave but soon found out that I could only up shift. Needless to say that was the longest trip home I've ever had (I work about 1hr from home).

During the loong drive home I was diagnossing the problem. I orignially thought the clutch was gone but realize that it was slipping and I was still able to shift. I could only downshift if the car was completely stopped. So I figured I must be losing clutch fluid. Sure enough when I got home and checked the resevoir it was empty. I fill it up but the clutch peddle was still stuck at the floor. I did a little research and found out that I had to bleed the air out of the system. After doing that the peddle returned it normal position.

I have since been monitoring the fluid level and it has been lowand needed refilled atleast once. When I was bleeding the system I didn't notice a fluid around the master cyclinder or the bleeder valve so I don't know where the fluid is going. If anyone has had this problem or is more familar with this section of the car I would appreciate your input on what needs to be fixed.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Chris

I recently had some clutch problems. My clutch started slipping one day during the middle of the week. I need my car for work and school during the week, so I couldn't just take it over to my mechanic to have a look. Within 24 hours clutch was burnt, and there was no fluid, and I was getting it towed to my mechanic. He replaced clutch and resurfaced my flywheel. He also let a LOT of air out of the line. Two weeks later, I jump in my car in the morning and I turn it on and take it out of first to warm-up. I got to put it into reverse and it was not going. I gave it a little force and heard a nasty nasty sound. Turned the car off checked fluid level. It was almost empty. I fill it up and try to throw it into gear. Nasty grinding sound again. Towed it to mechanic, again (I love you AAA). They master was bad and the slave was almost done. I replaced both and flushed the system. No problems and shifts like a champ, now. I would have someone take a look at your master and slave. Hope this helps.

I appreciate the input ... I will take a look at both units ..... Clutch doesn't seem to be slipping but probably will check that while I am at it.
