pinging pos!
I FRUSTRATED with this pinging. got new coils plugs maf and i use sunoco 94 and today i even aded a bottel of octane boost, and this pos still pings. wtf. got 55k any sugestions?
Fuel injectors can make a "knocking" sound... kind of like tapping. Most people think this is like engine ping you would hear on older cars that weren't tuned correctly... but it's not (as the above poster said, have you checked the injectors?)
Def. something you should check out, it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. Some amount of knocking is normal as injectors age...

From what I've been told by my mechanic friend, fuel injector cleaners/octane boosters in a bottle are complete waste of money. Your best bet is to have it done by a qualified shop. I did it to my 2k2 Max w/60k, problem solved.....

Go to a garage... let some one who knows what they are doing look at the car. replacing everything under the hood is not a good way to fix a problem.

It cost around $100 bucks, but it is worth it.
The fuel injection service cost me around $80 dollars, but it is well worth it. I've tried every gasoline from Chevron to Shell and nothing worked. Any cleaner that is poured into the tank is basically useless(I've tried most of them to no avail). Save your money and get it serviced by a technician.
