Can I upgrade the Alternator on my 5th gen!

YES, you can upgrade; NO you don't need to.
Again, are you competing in SPL leauges or simply uneducated?
there is NO need to upgrade unless you are running a true 2kW. Additionally, there are a number of additional electrical components that will be affected by this upgrade.
Ground the ish out of your car w/ 1/0, upgrade your big 3, get an optima, and call it a day.

I don't run a huge system (alpine v-12 4x40? and an Extant mono bass amp 1x200 watts I think) and my amps killed the alternator after 33k miles(didn't have the OPtima until now). Get a real good stiffening capacitor, the above mentioned optima, use good wires and gold fuse blocks all throughout, and use good grounds.

My alternator is still churning along, but an upgraded alternator would help out. I have an Xtant 2200 and 1001 running at 1ohm. It pulls between 150-200A. You can get your stock alternator upgraded or send a core in and get it "rewound" and you'd be all set. Good luck.
