MAF ?'s..........

i have a quistion about a MAF i have a 2002 maxima and i know the 01 MAF can be used but the metal piece needs to be taken out what exactyl dies in the MAF which causes all the problems?

my guess is debris or oils or the sensor itself....just my guess

It's the heated wire "element" that fails. It cannot be "quenched" by any liquid such as water or oil droplets striking it. I believe another issue is vibration.
