can u identify this engine part 4 me

if you open your hood
look at the engine
between where it says nissan 3000
and the radiator (yes there is a lot of stuff there)
there is a 3/4" to 1" peice of aluminum/steel piping
it goes from left to right or right to left (which ever way u look at it)
its actually almost resting at the base of the cover that says nissan 3000

The one I have is rusted (rusting)
I think its for the a/c...

if I had a picture I would post it and this would be easy
thanks

thanks for the picture
its the pipe to the right of the "yellow" oil dip stick
on the bottom left side of your picture
directly under the oil filler cap

So why is it that the coolant pipes and the radiator mounts and other parts are rusting so badly in these 5 year old cars
and
should those rusted coolant pipes be replaced,,,,,soon.....???

i live in indiana, so we get salty roads in the winter. however i got this car used, and it was originally a michigan car, so that is why i think much of my stuff is rusty/corroded

You could give them a good polishing, and flush the coolant system if you haven't done it recently. There is really no need to change them though. BTW one of those pipes is the heater return and the other is the bypass when the thermostat is closed.
