OEM bulbs rock...all others are a waste. especially with our fog bulbs. they'll blow eventually.
anywho, i dunno why, but when i see a lex or a benz with hid's, but oem corner lights, i like it cause it makes the HID stand out. with my oem fogs, it makes my HIDs stand out more. maybe i'm the only one.
save the money.

I am actually looking at that HID kit, but only if I can find some way to keep the 03 lenses from cracking (I've gone through 3 now). Anyone know if the plastic lens 00-01 fogs (that seem to hold up better) are the same as far as size and mounting, to the 03 ones?

Joe,
Not sure about the 01's, but if they are the same as the 03's then to change the bulbs I've found it easiest to pull the whole fixture out. You need to take out 2 philips head screws from the splash guard under the car below the fog light, and then one plastic pop clip that holds the splash guard to the front lip plastic. Then you can push the splash guard to the side enough to get your hand up in there and feel the back of the fog light where it's mounted. You can't actually see what you're doing unless you pull that whole splash guard off, but you should be able to feel where the wire goes into the light. There are two bolts (10mm) aligned one above the other on the back of the light. Unbolt those and the light will slide out the front. You may have to tap it a bit. The rest should be straight forward.

EDIT: see the top right pic in my sig...you can sorta see the shape there, but it's more noticable when it's taken off of the bumper.

If anyone knows where I can get H3 capsule's to put some color on the stock bulbs id like to know, yellow or blue.

No, I wasn't talking about replacing the 5.5 lens with a 5th gen lens, I was talking about replacing the entire fog light with the 5th gen version. I can't imagine the holes in the bumper where they mount are different, are they? Since you 5th gen people don't seem to have any problems I'm thinking those lights would be better candidates for a HID kit...

HIDtech.com Thats where you can get the capsules. They are $37. You have to email them.

Depend
If you would like to have your fogs stand out and be very practical, ie. actually useful under foggy conditions, use Capsules!
Or if you would like to have a blueish look. Might well look for Luminics Pure Blue before you look for HIDs.
