P0140 o2 problem and reprogramming

Have a bad Bank 1 rear o2 sensor on a 2000 with California emissions. Read the previous threads on the subject and the TSB. Repairs fall under two camps: Following the TSB to the letter which means replacing two o2's, reprogamming and reflashing - about $450 to 550 . Others replace the one bad 02 and disconnect the battery overnight with no reprogramming- about $125. Max has 90K. Any suggestions?

I just had that very code myself and just replaced both rear O2 sensors yesterday. I didn't go to the dealer for the ECU reflash, I just cleared the code with a regular OBDII scanner. I am not sure how important it is to have the reflash done, I posted in a thread a few weeks ago about this very subject asking how important it is to reflash the ECU after this and got no response. I can get you some pricing on the O2 sensors if you want, I sell the Bosch O2 sensors that are the same thing as OEM. Let me know.

yeah, mine went about a few months ago... went to nissan to grab the O2 sensor (my mechanic reccomended for me to go OEM) and I installed my y-pipe at the same time. I paid 130 for the sensor and $70 bucks for the pipe install

Sup all...

02 Max with 40K. P0138, similar prob, read threads and no real response/fix. Ive had the MAF replaced 2 times in the last 2 months, or shall I say, they put one on, I drove for about a couple weeks. Took of from a red light, and the car shutoff...Took it back, and they gave me some crap about an "updated" MAF...Im like WTF, why didn't you put it on the first time...I have extended warranty, 0 deductible, so I took it to the stealership. (Warranty Direct)...

Any suggestions? Do I really need to replace to 02 sensors? Im thinking along the lines that when the MAF was replaced, and then re-replaced, they didn't reprogram the ECU correctly...Ideas???

I've got a PO155 error code. Blue Wire O2 Sensor Heater, Sensor 1 Bank2. I'm going to just replace it and cross my fingers that I won't have to spring for the $100 ECM reprogramming. I'll keep you posted, as soon as I figure out how to keep track of all of my responses (Newbie problem)...

on replacing the sensors if you really want to save $ go to oxygensensors.com and get universal ones. They provide instructions on splicing these into current O2 sensor wires. I did this a couple of months ago and trouble light has not reappeared. I haven't gotten the ECU reprogrammed, but I have a new MAF and I still get some hesitation until car is warm so I plan on doing it. Just don't want to spend the money. It definitely drives better with the new sensor compared to when it was bad and kicking the SES light.

I haven't had any problems and its been almost a month and all I did was install the sensors and clear the code using a regular old OBDII scanner.
