2K2 shift boot and console in a 2000

I recently bought a 2K2 shift console and boot for my 2000. I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and if so how you secured the boot to stay upward near the shift ****.

Thanks guys. Neither of those went very much in depth about the question I had but it gave me a good idea so I popped in the garage and it looks great now. Thanks again.

why does it say you have a 2000 max when your profile says you have a 2k2, or do you have 2 maxs

I sold my 2K2 and bought a 2K, just too lazy to change the profile. I used to have a 97 a long time ago as well.

i remember the first time i took my shift console apart. i could never get my damn boot to stay up after. then i looked in there one day and saw a piece of rubber at the bottom of the metal bar that is my shifter. i pushed it up into the boot and it caught on a groove in the metal bar and has held up my shift boot ever since.
