HID theft has hit Nome, Alaska
I came out of my igloo today and saw an eskimo tearing the HIDs out of my 5th gen. He didn't have any tools, but he had a polar bear prying up the hood so he could pull out the housing. When I ran toward him yelling "stop, thief", he jumped onto his dogsled, told his dogs to "mush" and took off around a glacier. I jumped in the maxima and chased him, but he tossed the light housings to a group of penguins, who slid down the glacier and handed them off to a Killer Whale. I jumped in my boat and chased the killer whale, but he was just too fast.
A week later, a herd of Caribou showed up in town - and amazingly, they had new HID headlights mounted on their antlers. I went up to them and said "hey motherf%&#$ers, those are my lights!" The told me to go away or they would have their Walrus friend sit on me.
That's just wrong....
the moral of this story is:
Guys, I feel bad for everyone who's had HIDs stolen, and it sucks that it appears to be expanding outside of the NY/NJ metropolitan area. I hope that it never happens to me. But let's face the fact that there's basically not much one can do about it, besides not having the HIDs. And let's cool it with the "HID theft has hit (enter location here)" threads. Theft of any sort, including HIDs, are not "new" in Orlando, or Atlanta, or New York, or Chicago, or DC, or LA, or anyplace else. Just because you haven't seen it beforedoesn't mean that it hasn't been happening for years now.
Also remember, every time a new thread is posted on this subject, it reinforces to any thief that is surfing the net or the org how easy they HIDs are to steal....Let's not remind them.
Again, sorry to flame, but the "HID theft" threads are getting a little out of control/a little old.....
thank God nobody starts a new thread every time "car stereo theft" hits their area!
(oh, and make sure you read the top line of my signature)

Irish, they won't steal yours because they'll see the famed roof rack and think your a mountain man with a shotgun. As for the rest of you, I agree with Irish (ya, there's a first for everything). Unless you have a truely unique story like a herd of cattle ripping out your HIDS because they got blinded while you were four-bying in your max, don't repeat the same stuff. Gets a little old and lets the crooks know A) they're easy to steal and B) there's a market for them.

how is the traction driving across the glacier?
how is the gas there? did you have to advance your timing?
so whats the best intake to use their? i guess they would all be CAI
did you call the cops and tell them what happened?
are y-pipes, clear tail lights, and ricey exhaust legal there?
did you swap to auto climate control since its so cold there?
what kind of boat do you have?
one last thing. it wasnt the caribou or eskimos fault. it was nissan fault for not doing something to prevent the theft.
