New struts and top bushings. Now a loud clunk over bumps???
I had my front struts and upper bushing/bearing mounts replaced because one of them was making noise. Now the noise is a lot louder. I know it's not from the sway bar as we disconnected it and we're still getting the noise.
The guy who put the struts in for me said that the plastic tubing which goes on the end of the coil spring just fell apart on one side so the first 2" of the coil spring that sits in the strut is exposed. Is this the problem?
The noise almost sound metalic at this point yet nothing is loose or assembled wrong.
Anyone have experience with this?..........

Kevlo911-
I just went out and looked at the car again because I couldn't remember what the piece looked like that he replaced with the struts.
The piece he replaced DIDN'T have studs coming out of it, it just had the bushing that the strut comes through as it comes through the strut towers.
If I get these "strut mounts" as you call them, can I put them in without a spring compressor, or do I need to tear them all back apart again?

If ya dont wanna pay for the dealer cost go to a nissan dealership go directly to the
auto garage not through the office ask a mechanic to come out and check it out.
ask how it can be fixed if he knows off the top of his head how to fix it aks him than go home and do what he told you.........free info from nissan is great.
