Anyone else besides me think that the area when the back seats are folded down between the trunk and rear passenger seats is too small? My friend's civic coupe can fit larger items than my Maxima. What were the designers thinking?

And when you drive with the seats down and moonroof open, you get some thundering vibrations due to cavitation.

It's not all that small, its the opening from the trunk to the seats, it restricts the size of the stuff you can put in the trunk.

Had problems with getting an unassembled home audio cabinet through mine. With some huffing and puffing and a big fat shove I wedged it in. The rear doors could stand to open wider too. Nissan better be taking notes!

Yeah they better make that opening a lot wider on the next maxima, it really sucks. I tried to move an unassmebeled desk and i couldn't fit it in through the back seats.

The 4th's gens don't have openings as big as ours, so we should feel somewhat lucky.

The area is much too small. When attempting to move a disassembled work bench last month I had to use my son's '91 Camry which has a bigger opening. How embarrassing.

Don't even get me started on how hard it was to get the bodies to fit back there!

For something like that, always use rule number one:

Dismember, dismember, dismember.

This way, you don't even have to drop the back seats down!
