Does your auto tranny do this?

I noticed that my tranny starts shifting harder and harder the longer i drive. say i'm going for a 100 mile drive and for the first good bit maby 40 miles my car will shift normal and smooth. after that its starts shifting harder and harder even though i still drive it the exact same(normal take off nothing quick). my tranny fluid is still red/pinkish color, i think that is normal let me know otherwise. well any help would be appreciated. oh yea my car has 113k miles on it

Sounds like the tranny gets pretty hot after a while. Does the fluid smell burned? I would replace the fluid with synthetic (Amsoil or M1) cause they help keep the fluid temperature down (Amsoil claims that their Universal ATF will work at 300 degrees), and possibly add a tranny cooler depending on your modes, load in the car and climate. If you live in a cold climate during the winter, it's best to get a tranny cooler with a thermostat that allows the ATF to bypass the cooler until the temperature reaches hot levels. I think True-Cool coolers do that.

Good luck.

When was the last time the transmission fluid was replaced? Was that a flush or a drain and fill? Have you discussed your situation with a transmission shop?

Mine doesn't do that, but that's beause I have a VB mod.. But even before, on both my autos it has never happened. At times is shift a bit harder when cold, but not vice versa.
