Okay, since me and punkdork both regret getting autos, what do you all think the dealer would say about a 2k auto trade in for a 2k1 5sp, exact same car, all else equal except tranny, assume mint condition, no **** about mods etc...Do you think any dealers have a 2k 5sp they want to get rid of? they would trade that way cheaper I think...

I WAS going to try and do the same thing. GXE auto for SE 5spd. Since I think the dealer is going to try a RAPE ME I decided against it.

Ditto... I've looked at going up to an AE, a used M3, a Subie WRX, and a golf 1.8t. any way you slice it I'd be gettin it with no lube.

Ditto. I tried AE, used Passat 1.8T, and TL. No amount of lube could have prepared me. Way too much negative equity on car that is 18 months old. I'm just going to sit tight and enjoy the ride. There's always something greener on the other side of the fence.

This is exactly why I have begun more involved mods (i.e. eibachs and this weekend.. tokicos).

I'm 90% sure that I might trade in my 2000 gle for 2001 AE 5spd. I will get it for $24,504.00 with 3.9 APR, since I work at Nissan. Only thing is, my wife uses my car half the time and she don't know how to drive stick, then I'm afraid she might mess up the clutch and crap. Lately shes been ****ing me off, so I might end up doing it
