A/C Problem?!?

When the AC is on, i hear this deep rumble when i accelerate a little bit.. i took to a friend, who's a mechanic, and he said its normal since the AC is taking power from the engine... but it seems like its taking too much! its like a really low rumble, a deep bass in front from the passenger side (where the compressor is) has anyone experiaced anything like this? am i over reacting? i only have 36k miles, can it be the compressor?

AC rumble is usually just a loose belt.

when the a/c is on you should hear 1 noise every now and then--the click noise when the compressor clutch kicks on and off.if there is a rumble its probly a bad compressor--but you should check it---what I do is when the a/c is turned on--if you can get to it--I use a long screwdriver and put my ear up to the end of the screwdriver. the noise should be pretty loud if its the compressor---a lot of the time the pulley makes noise
