robbing a dealership?

whats up....both me and my father have 5th gens and his MAF blew a long time ago and his car is still under warranty, if he takes the car in will this get replaced? Also my 5th gen was bought from a private owner and the warranty is up. I think my MAF is goin too cuz my ses light came and the car is jerking a little bit. What i wanted to know if it was possible my fathers car could get his MAF replaced, then switch it with mine like 2 weeks later and take my broken and put it in his car and take it back to the dealer and say it blew again. And Ill just use the one they gave him. Would this work?

sure, unless they record the serial number on the maf and realize that they put that part in a different vehicle which just happens to be owned by your father. dude, a new maf element for your car is around $85. just buy it and save yourself the possible embarrassment of getting caught stealing.

just because you CAN do something, doesn't always mean you SHOULD.

go for it, just clean up your old one so it looks new, dealerships rob people all the time.... just a little payback.

Dealerships keep records (including parts replaced) of all the prior service done to your car. If they see that they put in part YYY 2 weeks ago and the car comes in with part XXX, guess what? Remember, maf part numbers have changed as nissan has revised it.

I can't believe we are giving advice on not stealing. You're old enough to make your own choice. Just remember not to wear your underwear backwards when you get caught and put in prison. Oh yeah the lawyer fees and fines should set you back a few thousands too. Good luck!

Heres a little advice only do it if you know one of the mechanics their, and ask him how their dealership works otherwise save yourself the 2g's you'll spend on the lawyer and call Dave and get a maf from him for the 85 buck as said earlier!
