I decided to go out with some friends.

This was a guy I raced in his older model accord.
Lets just say when i let him in front of me and then passed him with the thumbs down he wasn't too happy.
I slowed down again to snap a pic.
Oh then he flicked me off and i dueced him and flicked him off too

Are we sure of this? I don't think the acceleration is quicker with mine off .. keeping it from shifting in overdrive seems to only have the advantage of a faster RESPONSE if you suddenly decide to floor it .. but the actual power/speed i don't see any different.. damn what am I trying to say here....

turning o/d off will not give you better accleration. It will just lock out 4th gear.

the only reason its better is because you don't have to wait for the tranny to downshift from 4th to 2nd or 4th to 3rd. No downshift needed if O/D is off.

Hey, I could be wrong and O/D may help a little bit, although I doubt it....... So I would turn it off if you are looking to race just in case. If nothing, turning it off gives you some more mental hp

but ur engine is running at higher revolutions so u are burning more gas then necesary... so i usually have my O/D engaged (light is off) but i do flick it on and off a lot while driving...

I always keep the light off. Only when I am driving up on a hill and I want to pass somebody i flick it and it gives me more rpm for more power. Also if you are driving on a hill then the transmision "plays" between 3rd and 4th gear so the O/D just keeps it in third.

Did they say anything when you took the pic? You should have told them that you work for Riceboy magazine and you took their pic because they will be on the front cover.
