i35 front end conversion
hey guys hows it going.
I was thinking about doing a i35 front end conversion. Has anyone done this before. I know they've done it on a 4th gen, but how hard would it to be to do this on a 5th gen. What would i need?
Thanks, Brian

well for starters the i35 had the front grill attached to the hood and the bumper shows a diff shape.
I think you need a new hood or need to change the setting of your hood, change the bumper and lights and you should be fine. Considering the rest of the body is identical the maximas, the bumper should go right in.

we'll thats the problem, the hood, i don't want to lose it. Not sure if i could customize my CF hood to fit or not and then make a custom grill to fit between the hood and headlights.

The I35 is supposedly wider than the Maxima, so I don't know what kind of impact that might have.
But theoretically, everything should bolt up. You'd definitely need a new front end though. Hood, fenders, lights, bumper, etc.

i think you would also have to get new fenders since the headlights are different. I also dont think the front of the car would match the rest of the body but hey, ur car ur time, ur money. BUT WHY would you want to change something that already looks tight? jk as you wish and good luck with the project.

Can someone confirm that I35's have the same line in the body? I'm pretty sure I see it on MetaOrbit's I35 above. It's right on the shadow line at door handle height.

The body, save for the doors and the roof, is not identical. The chassis, however, is.
And of course the body lines are different. And theoretically, it should be a bolt-on affair.
Do I know that for a fact though? Absolutely not.
Personally, I think it'd look out of place. Body line difference (or not) aside, the fact that Maximas have a type of "arch" or flared ring around the wheel wells while the I30/I35s do not would look funny when mixed.
