This is for a 4th Gen but I followed the same steps when I did it for my '02, except that

1) I drain and fill the radiator with just distilled water several times (~6 times) - capacity for the radiator is about 4 qts
2) the last time, drained and filled the radiator with straight full-strenght NISSAN (green) long life coolant, which would make for almost a 50/50 mix left in the system

anybody run a mixture other than 50/50? I currently run 50/50 but might change to 80 water and 20 coolant in the future....some might say 20% coolant is overkill, but I read somewhere that coolant is mainly there to protect it from rusting?

I'd stick with the 50/50 mixture. Besides lowering the freezing point (which is something you wouldn't need to worry about too much) it raises the boiling point, which would be more important where you are. And it does help keep the radiator clean. 20% coolant is way to little IMO no matter where you are.

Check the fluids and lubricants forum for more info.
