PIC - 00-01 versus 02-03 bump stops.

I bought new bump stops form the dealer, and when i compared them to my old ones they turned out to be different. The old bumpstops (top) which i think are in 00-01's, are inside the boot and the bump stop seems like its made from hard foam. The new ones (bottom) which i think go on the 02-03 models are very hard rubber. Are these new ones better , why are they made from different material?

While you have your struts apart, can you take a pic of the rubber hat that goes on top of the rear spring?

The bottom dust boot/bump stop looks like a 02/03 part. I would think the hard rubber would be a much better solution than the foam of the 00/01.

it's not foam, jusr a porous rubber. either one is fine to use.
