WTF New clutch @ 43k!!!!!

Well I was told by a friend at nissan that my clutch is going on me after 43k miles on the car and I think that is f!kin insane. The problems I am having is that it grabs really high, has a spongy feel to it in 5th and 6th gear, and it takes a second to engage and it felt like it was slipping on me while I was in 5th and 6th. 1st through 4th gear work ok and engage fine so now I wondering if there is another problem and it is not the clutch?? What the hell do I do now??

If it is the clutch do what do you guys think of clutch master stage 3 and a Findanza flywheel or should I go for a Spec stage 2??

Seems like your clutch is on the way out.
Clutch master seems the way to go. Don't even think about going near jim wolf on our cars....

Avoid Jim Wolf like the plague. My car is off the road now, the jim wolf flywheel finally wore down my starter to the point where it just spools and doesn't crank.... Gotta love this crap during finals week.

Fidanza flywheel? Not on our 5.5 gens, unlesss something new happened, yet they are making clutches and flywheels for us (according to brian catts).

It seems that they do, according to this thread in the GD section... unless I'm missing something here...

I thought clutch master has a flywheel available as well for us... Though it's not listed there.

wow your clutch is going already? I am 41k miles and it still bites hard...lots of city driving too....

have you actually confirmed that its slipping? did you try the test of rollin in 4th gear then punching it? or how about speed shifting it at redline? does it slip when u go into the next gear? all those are a symptom of a bad clutch...

EDIT: mine grabs pretty high compared to other cars out there...I don't think u have to worry about engagment point...I driven a 350z and a g35 before...it has the same clutch engagment as my maxima...alot of vq35 powered nissans have a high engaging clutch...this is from what i heard

I just got Spec stage 2 and Fidanza installed by TILLEYS99 in his shop. Pedal feels soft like OEM and clutch grabs little high. Love how fast my RPM drops. I'm liking it so far. Lets see how well they hold some boost.

Drive about 45mph on 6th gear. Floor your gas pedal. If you see RPM rising fast without speed increasing, your clutch is slipping. That's how I test if my clutch is slipping or not.
