You need to take all your keys to a Nissan dealership. They use a CONSULT II to program the transponder in the keys.

damn u shoulda got the key before the remote start because they need to program ALL they keys you cant just program one. Good luck with this man. I have the remote start and got a key before and got them all programmed the day the alarm was installed and they told me this same thing you need to program them all at once so your gonna have to get he key from under the dash or wherever they put the one for the remote start and take it too

The remote you can do yourself. The key is the tricky part.

I wound up using a Valet Key for my remote start hide-away key. The Valet Key was the only one I had at the time. Nissan wanted $100 for a new programmed key. Luckily the dealership ate the cost.

yesterday my original key broke at the top so it kept falling off the key ring so i went over to courtesy and bought an AE key ($49), and had them program the AE, valet, and original key...they say my car is ready and i pay and wait 20 minutes before someone calls me over telling me the 2 keys i brought to them were not holding the codes and causing the AE key to reset b/c the chips were loose in them. They were about to leave me hanging with 1 key instead of all 3 until i started to argue with them about how i came in with 2 working keys and i just wanted to get 1 key programmed and that they needed to give me a free key b/c the 2 worked before. well they tried a 3rd time to program everything and all of a sudden they all worked. BTW, courtesy charges $42 for up to 4 keys for programming.

The cheapest way is to find a lock smith with one of the transponder programming machines...I bought 2 keys (02), with programming for like $70. The keys were about $25, and he charged me $20 for the programming...I like $70 for 2 keys, rather than $100+ at the stealership...

BTW, I do have the instructions to program the keyfob..If anyone needs it, I will email it to you...Im pretty sure this information is in the sticky's as well...

Good Luck

I can say with absolute certainty that it will work. We bought my wife's '02 Max used and I asked for an extra key as part of the deal. The extra key they gave us was an AE key.

any key will work IF it has a chip in it---as long as they use a key code to cut it--I don't rec that you guys use your key like in the tracer machines unless the key is new--when keys get rounded off they stop working in cars.
Just some OPINIONS---and if you have only one key programmed and you have more than one--when you use the other one(not programmed) it will trigger the Nats system and the vehicle will not start(if you're lucky it might)--just check the security light for being solid when trying to start
