I just switched my K&N to the AEM on my Berk and am happy with the set up. Don't see the need for the very expensive Apex filter.

I also have the Berk Intake on my 2001 5spd. It sounds nice, and yes, I also have the whistle, LoL.

Actually, my intake whistles more because I decided to remove my K&N filter (which I sold to one of my students), and I placed one of those turbo-like cones on the setup instead. Now the whistle is a bit louder and sounds like a baby turbo when I shift.

One other thing that I also did with my Intake setup was to relocate my battery to the trunk. I never liked the fact that the battery had been designed to sit right in front of the intake.

the hardest part is trying to get the rubber hoses on you have to use some heat to stretch them to go over the throttle body and the metal apex part that goes on the back of the filter it take a while but it works

Ill be selling a lot of my aftermarket parts soon, inclusing my Berk intake system, so make sure you look to the classified ads.

Trurida18, it isn't a K&N filter. I removed my K&N. I didn't like the cylinder design it used, so I sold my K&N and bought a new cone ($5) at a swap meet. I do not remember the brand of the cone in the picture, but it is similar to one of those universal parts you can purchase at a Pep Boys, etc.

Trurida18, if you look at MaximaDave's picture above these posts, you'll see similar cones like the one I purchased. The only difference is that the one I bought had the checkered design, which is why I bought it - plus the red ring matched the couplers on the intake setup
