Quiet Muffler for a 2002 Maxima

Can anyone point me to a URL to buy a stainless steel muffler that is baffeled for my 2002 Maxima I have a stainless 2.5" catback and the Greddy muffler is damaged and I would like to quiet down my car now that I have a reason to replace the muffler. I checked Frankencar but they only list full catback for around 500.00. Please help. Thanks in advance

you could get a muffler separate from the b pipe.

You can buy the FC rear section by itself. The FC is the quietest aftermarket performance muffler out there, and it is stainless (and very nice looking). I've always been happy with the quality and performance of my FC stuff.

by the way, per their website:

Frankencar Performance "Rear Section Exhaust"(Includes muffler with factory location hangers and exhaust piping over rear axle with flange, NO WELD installation) - $315+$25 shipping

This is the rear section without the b-pipe, essentially.

I have the B-pipe and rear section. My budget is 200.00. I think that is a reasonable number.

Actually the Greddy B pipe is coming off. It's pretty rusted. I have a Warp Y and a Budget B pipe and rear section ready to take its place. I would even consider an aluminized OEM muffler. Would I lose HP with a stock mufler? The straight through mufflers are just to loud on the freeway.

you could go with a stock 2k2 muffler and mate it to your budget bpipe...not totally sure if it would bolt right up though...heard the HP lose isn't noticeable since the stock muffler already does a good job for n/a maxima applications....

Call Dave B @ south point nissan to order a new OEM muff...he hooks up .org members all the time..

probably a few...to almost none at all...this is from my findings....

the FC bpipe should give u nice gains...wheres the muffler is equivalent to stock....so replacing just the rear section should only give you sound...wheres replacing the CAT-BACK, will give u some slight gains....correct me if i am wrong

I'm also reading about Flowmaster 50 mufflers. This is a chambered muffler to reduce noise. I like a loud muffler I just hate drone at higher speeds and lower rpm's. If I go with a flowmaster 50 do you think that I should go with one 2.5" outlet or dual 2" outlets. I'm thinking the 2.5" single would make less noise? Also, my B-pipe is from budget and it only came with a 14" resonator. Will this be trouble?

Sounds about right... there aren't any/many rear sections that will give any hp gains... it seems that the difference maker is the b-pipe because of the larger piping and less crimps than stock...

Btw, no one has ever dynoed with a Frankencar cat-back or rear (and probably shouldn't bother, unless they have money to burn) so we really won't know the gains it provides over stock... if any.

The stock muffler is your best bet. I have a straight through Vibrant and have compared both at the track. Guess what the stock muffler has given me the fastest times.

I have headers and a full 2.5 b pipe and test pipe. More noise does not mean more performance.

Well I don't have a problem with a stock muffler. However, my whole exhaust system will be 304 stainless and I would prefer to also have a SS muffler. Do you know where I can get one? I don't think I can that 's why I was considering a Flowmaster 50 for under 100.00.
