Headlight Bulb Replacement

I looked in the stickies, but didnt see anything regarding this.

Has anyone replaced a headlight bulb in a 01, SE?

not the entire headlight/assembly, rather just the $20 bulb. My left is out...brights are out as well.

It would seem to be a fairly easy process..does anyone have any info on it?

pull the electrical connector out the back of the bulb. then pull the rubber shell/gasket in the same direction as you pulled the connector (it should have a tab you can get grip on. you will then see two metal braces that actually surround the bulb. put one finger around each side and squeeze them towards each other. the brace will fall backwards and you should be able to pull the bulb out. follow reverse to reinstall. also a regular oem replacement bulb should not be 20 bucks unless you bought some kind of tinted bulb or premium brand from the dealer.

I've bought from them. I also have the Power2Night bulbs, they are probably the best halogens I've had. Power2Night > Silverstars or the like. IMO

If you read my initial post, and clearly either you didn't, or just didnt comprehend it, you will see that Im not saying I dont know how to do it.

Im asking if anyone has done it and have information on it. Maybe there are some nuances about it which would help me out.

If you arent sure what nuance means,

The only way this thread could be more useless is if you had a poll on who had changed a headlight bulb. Give me a break. Pop your hood and take a look. I promise that someone one with your obviously superior education could figure it out.

good luck

Nope, no nuances. Pretty self-explanatory. You may want to disconnect the battery but even that isn't necessary. Make sure to not touch the bulb to your skin as you probably know and avoid colliding it on anything to prolong life.
