anybody do their own tint job?

i just blacked out my window trim, it looks on point now. i used to think maximas (5th gens) looked funny with tints and i think this is mainly because of the chrome trim, but now that i've taken mine off, i want to tint the damn thang.

to save money, i want to tint my own window... depending on how difficult it is. comments please

Unless you absolutely know what you're doing... I WOULD NOT recommend it... even professional shops struggle with getting the job done right...

you would pay at most 200 for tint at a professional... average is 130-160

unless you wana buy tint film in bulk.. its gonna cost you alot for good tint film

true, my rear window is already tinted. so maybe it'll be a little cheaper with just the four doors tinted. i'm going to go for the legal limit, 35%.

unless you want bubbles and wrinckles than go ahead

for the time that you would put into it to do at best a bad job, you could just pay on average 150 for a nice job and usually get a warranty

your gonna regret it if you do it your self. i did mine on my first car, an 83 volvo. it came out like crap, but i didnt care, it was a pos in the first place. youd def want a pro to do your tint. 200 bucks is expensive but youll love it though.

Hey guys..since we are on the subject of tinting and I can't start my own thread yet, what do you all think about tinting the front windshield? I have an 05 and was looking to tint the entire window w/ Llumar 35. Also, do you think it will affect the wiper speed control.

If any of you have or had your front window tinted, do you like it or not and why?

Thanks

I used to tint cars. The back windows are a b*tche to tint. The sides are that bad. It'll cost you at least $2 a foot for decent tint, plus other materials. Now, I pay to get my cars tinted. BTW, even the cheapest aluminum tint should have some warranty (minimum 1 yr up to 5 yrs) and the most expensive titanium same shade don't block the sun that much better, look at specs. Go with your preference.

VERY Illegal, and it would be more difficult to see at night. Even with your HID's

knocking on wood....going on 5+ years and no ticket for the windshield at 35%. Although the guy that did mine said he's done ~ 75 officers as well; that and it is 112 today.

But to answer the first person's question...it has nothing to do with your wipers, etc...tint goes, get this, on the inside of your windows.

What do you think about 150 bucks for 15% all the way around on my 05? It's Llumar Atr, it should look good on silver.

No, I was refering to the automatic wiper speed. The faster the car goes, the faster the wipers go on the 6th Gen. Not the speed of the wipers themselves. There are 2 "eyes" on the inside of the car that regulate how fast the car is going and rain coming down on the car.

$150 is a pretty good price llumar art. If you do front, it shouldn't effect speed-sensitive wiper. Since we don't rain sensor wiper, it doesn't matter. It may effect auto headlight though.
