I've thought the same thing, but unless ur gonna race for money F@CK the Evo. The way I look at it was 5 more yrs of payments or 1 payment for the SCer. The best part is that ur owning a LUXURY SPORTS SEDAN that will smoke alot of cars. That Max is a great sleeper car. Less than 1 yr left and my Max is all mine and she's getting a SCer. Can't wait to see expressions of those G35 or a 350z owners as I walk em.

Scopium, that was pretty funny and very true. I'm surprised at the large amount of replies I've gotten on this question. Ultimately I will choose between a Subaru Impreza WRX STi and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR. I've already owned an STi of which I’ve put a lot of money into with modifications, so I know the difference between those types of vehicles over my 2k1 Maxima. I got rid of the STi for financial reasons at the time, but since I just sold one of my homes I have money to spend and want to go back. I’ve always liked the EVO even when I had the STi, so it’s going to be a hard choice nevertheless. Thank you all for your opinions and ideas. I enjoyed reading all the posts! BTW – This is what I have done to my Maxima thus far – Nitrous ZEX Wet kit running a 75 shot, Walbro 255 high pressure fuel pump, Sards fpr, Injen CAI, Cattman Y-Pipe, Custom Enterprise mid-pipe, GReddy EVO II cat-back exhaust, Stillen grounding kit, Unorthodox lightened crank pulley, APEXi S-AFC II (dyno tuned), NGK Iridium IX plugs & Tokico HP struts. I think I listed all of them!

These threads are soooooooo stupid. Apples and oranges.

Hey guys I'm thirsty, should I drink a Coke, or do I like to drink Apple Juice? I can't decide. Why don't you tell me what I will like better.
)
The people here are maxima drivers, and are not experts on Evos or STIs or whatever (regardless of what they say).....all they can say is "dude, those are kewl" or "dude I saw one go really fast once"

go drive an evo, see if you like it. see if the price is right, etc etc etc....that should be the deciding factor.

*personally* I would wait another year, few high HP turbo AWD cars coming to our market- and one of them is a Turbo AWD WRC-wining Corolla WRC. Utility of a hatchback, with 300HP, AWD and Toyota reliability.

SC sucks, you will be stuck shreading belts etc. Turbo kits for our cars are very poorly engineered.

Max Or Evo

I would go evo...since i used to own a eclipse gst.....man what a car....evo has the same 4363G engine in it . Very easy to mod...$2500 bucks and your pushing 350 whp easy...I will be getting an evo in the future for sure. 4 doors with room for the kids.

ahm its actually a 4G63 engine, and no you will not push 350WHP for 2500 bux eassy on a EVO. Keep the Maxima, Mitsubishi doesn't warranty almost ANYTHING on a EVO, their service is worse than Nissans. Plus if you are close to paying off the Maxie why spend 30K dollars on a car that your kids will not enjoy crusing in... you will be lucky to get like 8K dollars for your car, and you are back at square one- PAYMENTS.

if you do have family, evo isnt a safe car to drive in either. for performance i would get it, and keep the max too if its paid off.

Hey philzaga , I think I have seen you on Mcdonalds ave the other day(night ), at the gas station- NICE RIDE!!

Back to the topic:as it has been said a lot of times- think what you need and make your OWN decision! And don't forget that its a MAXIMA Enthusiast's forum, so that means that most of the people here are kind of crazy about Maxima and you are asking them this question...
