Knocking from my front left wheel. I thought it was related to my new tires, but nope...
I had this go on my Oldsmobile after it turned 10. A bit suprised to see it go so quickly on the Maxima. Then again it doesn't have suspension borrowed from a 4x4. So I have the basic Security+Plus Pre-Owned Protection plan and it doesn't appear to be covered (http://www.nissanextendedwarranty.co...rageChart.pdf).
Anyone know if the 5 year / 60,000 mile powertrain warranty would cover the assembly and the hub? If it does, how would I go about getting reimbursed for the $470 I paid already? Also, who would I talk to at Nissan about this. On a side note, I have a Preowned security plus basic warranty. The guy I spoke with over the phone said that would cover the bearing but not the assembly. Thanks a lot for any help you can provide me!

Why don't you take out your hubs by yourself then have a machine shop press the old bearings out and press the new ones in? I just got new bearings for my 300ZX...$360 for two rear bearings. $30 to get them pressed in.
realmac, i dont think the knuckle/hub doesnt need to be replaced when bearing goes bad, hence why the bearing is covered but not the hub. sometimes part of the bearing gets stuck on the hub though so you gotta get it off. the tech probably damaged the hub when trying to remove it.

I just replaced both of mine. 
$400 alltogether for both sides... I got charged up the butt but oh well. OEM FTW.
about $196 for parts
about $170 for labor (i took the knuckles out myself and brought it to the machine shop)
