Those who had the Trunk TSB done, check your max
#1
I know this has been posted before, but at that time, I checked my max and no scratches. Now, the scratches are back. I had my trunk TSB performed about 3 months ago - even got a beautiful paint job on the bumper. Now, more scratches and they look bad. Based on the fact that the clips were in short supply when I got mine done, I am leaning toward the fact that my clips weren't exchanged - just a new bumper paint job.
I guess I am going back to the dealer.
Anyway, if you think you had a successful swap of clips for your trunk TSB, I suggest you check it about once a month to see if they are coming back.
Good luck!

Apparently the first set of bumper clip replacements was insufficient to overcome the scratching. As a result, Nissan released a new set of bumper clips. I had the first set of clips installed several months ago and the scratches came back. I just had the second set installed and so far, so good.
The body shop did a terrible job of repainting my bumper (not their fault . . . lousy Nissan paint). They expect to receive a new batch of paint around the middle of June. At that point, they'll repaint the bumper again. So it may be a while before I know whether the scratches are gone for good.
If your dealer refused to repaint your bumper when they replaced your bumper clips, I'd open a case with Nissan at 1-800-NISSAN1. It was Nissan's poor workmanship that caused the condition and they are responsible to repair it, not just stop it from getting any worse.

The dealer did not paint the scratch marks after I had the TSB done in November. The allignment between the bumper on the side and the left rear fender is not perfect. I don't think new scratches are appearing. I tried to take the old ones out with touch-up paint. That was not a great success. I will try and have them professionally buffed out. Is that likely to work?
