Fuel injector, or Power Premium gas???
Hey guys I heard that I can fill my car with cheapest or at least medium gas like 89 and use fuel injector, insead of filling up with the highest power premium fuel.
Would fuel injector realy work like filling up with 91+ if you'll use it with cheaper gas???
Any thoughs?

Even at that, the cost of it will not benefit because an extra $3 you could've spent on using the 91 in the first place. And fuel injector cleaner isn't octane booster as stated above. Where did you "hear" this invalid information?

because there's no logic/truth/valid scientific explantion for it unless the packing personnel at the manufacturer mixed up the labels "Octane Booster" with "Fuel Injector cleaner". Or is that vice versa

i've seen the same question asked somewhere else.
maxima drivers should just accept that over time you won't save a significant amount using anything less than premium. the price difference between premium and regular isn't enough to warrant a switch. so which would you rather do:
a) use premium and get better mileage, performance. [& bump your timing with no probs
]
b) use regular and spend the same amount [over time] as you would on premium because you have to fill up more frequently [since the engine/ecu/timing isn't optimized for regular]. plus you lose performance. then if you think about it you end up spending more time out of your car than in it because you're standing at the pump more frequently.
seems like a no brainer to me.

I always fill up on 93. While it is true that your car's ECU will most likely retard your timing to prevent damage to your engine, you will probably end up losing power and lowering your gas mileage if you use 87. Mid grade in my area is 91, which meets the minimum requirements listed in the owner's manual, but I don't use it. I have had my base timing advanced, and it is very hot here in the summer, so I don't want to risk premature detonation by skimping on gas. It sounds like mid grade in your area is 89. Using 89 on a regular basis won't damage your engine, and it's not going to be qutie as bad as running 87 all the time, but you still probably won't be getting peak fuel efficiency.
If you're so strapped for cash that you can't afford to drive a car that guzzles premium fuel, you should probably trade your Maxima in for something more fuel efficient. A Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V might be nice for you. First of all, it is decently quick (not a quick as a Max, though). Second, it has great aftermarket support, so you can always make it quicker. Third, it handles better than most Maximas. It still uses premium fuel, but it gets MUCH better gas mileage than the Maxima.
