Tranny issue, just went away?!?

My SES light was on for a long time. It would randomly go away for about 15-20 key cycles. Had the car scanned and it was a TCM code. Deleted the code just to have to light go away for a while. Of course a week or so later it cam back on. Now about 2-3 weeks ago the light turned off by itself, and has not come back on. Ever since the light turned off a couple weeks ago the car has been shifting perfect. Before it would lag a little for the 2-3 shift and sometimes a little for the 1-2 shift. I've never heard of a tranny issue going away by it's self but that seems to be what has happened here. Is this possiable?

Was the transmission shifting hard before and during the time the light was on?

Even if it is working fine I would get it checked out to be sure there was no problem.

Transmissions are weird like that.
