Every single picture is from an 00-01 Maxima... then he has a picture of a completely different car? That is quite a big mistake.

It's an 00-01, which you can tell by the headlights, fog lights, front bumper, tail lights, and wheels. The steering wheel looks like the 01, not the 00. I reported his *** to ebay, as if they'll do anything.

I sent messages to all the bidders....though it looks like some of them are car-auction types who buy-sell-buy-sell used cars.... :

i noticed that the cup holder cover, the piece that can cover it or slide into the slide, has a lip as the 00-01 instead of that lovely button the 02-03 have

why is that illegal? Or do you mean it's against ebay rules? .....like I give a crap about ebay rules, I rarely buy stuff off of there...would rather deal with people I can trust, even if I have to pay a bit more.

he posted pics of the wrong car.. if you looks at the VIN's 10th digit, it is a "2" which make the car a 2002....

FYI..

They are as follows:

* 1st character- Identifies the country in which the vehicle was manufactured.
For example: U.S.A.(1or4), Canada(2), Mexico(3), Japan(J), Korea(K), England(S), Germany(W), Italy(Z)

* 2nd character- Identifies the manufacturer. For example; Audi(A),
BMW(B), Buick(4), Cadillac(6), Chevrolet(1), Chrysler(C), Dodge(B),
Ford(F), GM Canada(7), General Motors(G), Honda(H), Jaquar(A), Lincoln(L), Mercedes Benz(D), Mercury(M), Nissan(N), Oldsmobile(3), Pontiac(2or5), Plymouth(P), Saturn(8), Toyota(T), VW(V), Volvo(V).

* 3rd character- Identifies vehicle type or manufacturing division.

* 4th to 8th characters- Identifies vehicle features such as body style, engine type, model, series, etc.

* 9th character- Identifies VIN accuracy as check digit.

* 10th character- Identifies the model year. For example: 1988(J), 1989(K), 1990(L), 1991(M), 1992(N), 1993(P), 1994(R), 1995(S), 1996(T),
1997(V), 1998(W), 1999(X), 2000(Y)------2001(1), 2002(2), 2003(3)

* 11th character- Identifies the assembly plant for the vehicle.

* 12th to 17th characters- Identifies the sequence of the vehicle for production as it rolled of the manufacturers assembly line.

If that's the right VIN# indeed, the "D" in "1JNDA" stands for the VQ35DE engine and the "2" in fron to the "T" stands for 2002.

Either the pic was wrong or it's probably one of those chop shop cars, which is illegal to sell on ebay, since he indicated the title is clear listed on ebay. Secondly any moron who couldn't figure out is gonna be in for a misery

I did the same thing, and will have owned it a week on Saturday. This is exactly why I would never ever buy a car on eBay without personally inspecting it firsthand before the sale.
