Quick question

I am having some tokico hp put on my 2003 max and the guy told me that an alignment isn't needed. Is this true. Also is there a way to tell if the previous owner of a car had lowering springs on before they traded in the car. Everything is stock but my struts are very soft front and rear. It seems to early for my car to need struts....40,000 miles.

ive NEVER worked on a car that didnt need an alignment after struts.

my 91 needed it... its just a toe adjustment. front camber/caster isnt adjustable.

It shouldn't be soft...unless the previous owner went off roading with it.

I think he had performance springs on the stock struts. I looked in the trunk to see if the lining looked like it had been removed and it does. So i figure he probably put the stock springs back on it when he traded it in.. . But i even called the dealer for a quote and the also said no alignment needed...WTF

struts dont always fail just from normal wear. sometimes theyll leak which of course, would cause premature failure.

I checked for leaking. no leaking and i was told that bad shocks don't always leak. I had an 02 auto before this 03 6sp and the car road alot stiffer..My ride is kinda choppy and i don't think it should be a difference in ride quality from auto to stick..

no, it shouldnt... and yes, its true, bad shocks dont always leak, but a leaking shock is always bad

have you given it the 'bounce test'?

yes i pushed down on the corners and it bounces twice sometimes and then if i do it i won't bounce twice like the shock is prefect...
