Would these wheels look good

Mods please do not move because i am directing this question only at 5th gen owners.

Alright guys over the weekend i picked up a 18x8 and a 18x10 pair of volk gt-n(same as the ones on a33vq30dek's car) for $190 shipped. At first i figured they would look ok and fit becuase according to the wheel offset calc they will only stick out 2mm more than my current setup. I got these becuause i wanted some daily driver rims because the 19's give a brutal ride and the deal on these was to good to pass up.

My question for you all is do you guys think these would look good? Could these possibly rub the inside of the wheel well? Also has anyone ever run a 10" wide rim on a 5th gen?

here is a pic of how my wheels are now. This is a 19x8 w/ a 20mm offset, so imagine the wheels sticking out 1 or 2 more mm.

I would have to see them on the car first. I doubt they would rub, but I have never tried rims that wide before.

I also rolled the little lip that runs on the inside of the wheel well when i got my car painted. that should give me some more leeway.

it'd probably be a pain in the butt, but if you were able to find someone with a pair of 18x8's lying around, i don't see why they wouldn't trade for 18x10's

i'm assuming they're gunmetal since your car's black...should look hot

Judging by what you've done to the car so far, I'd assume your new rims will be classy... even if they are wider they'd probably look really good... the real issue is probably the possible rubbing, which I would know nothing about.

I did google them and they were gold. Bright gold. I am not sure about them. But it is your car.

Found the pic here: http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthre...&Main=67975125

Even though they're gold with a silver lip... I think they'd still look decent on a black Max...

first off yes they are volk gt-n. I got the 2 wheels off of ebay. I was the only one to bid on them so needless to say i got a steal. The ones i have are gunmetal.

I am thinking of getting them painted gold though. I am keeping my other rims becuase i just can't seem to bring myself to sell them

I think for the price that you got them for, you're not really losing out by buying them, trying them out, and if they don't work, selling them for a profit.

Auuugh...that means 36mm LESS inside wheel to strut housing clearance over stock for the 18x10.

Do we have that much room?

So do i have to worry about the strutt to wheel clearance or the inside wheel well clearance?

From what i saw it is the inside of the wheel well. I have plenty of room from the coilovers.

I didn't realize we had that much room between the tire and strut...good to know.

Like you said, it should only stick out 2mm more on the 18x10, so no help here.

I think they will look good on your car, if they fit.

Well the coilovers are smaller in diameter. About 1/2 the diameter of the stock struts and springs

"so imagine the wheels sticking out 1 or 2 more mm."

1mm is about as thick as a peice of paper.. Shouldnt even notice the difference. I dunno about 10 inch wide, but then again i never tried it. goodluck!
