Torque Steer or Bad Motor Mount

I have an 02 Max 6spd. When I accelerate hard from 1st to 2nd the wheel that is getting more torque steers the car in that direction. How much is normal and how do I know if I have a bad back motor mount?

visual inspection, or rev the motor and gauge it by the engine movement.

how bad is it?

Its very normal. High horsepower front wheel drive cars have this tendency. Just keep a firm grip on the steering wheel.

I have HLSD and once in a while I can feel torque steer. I'd imagine without that, the torque steer would be really noticeable.

Very normal, but there are factors that greatly affect the degree

1) Poor tire wear
2) Car Alignment
3) worn suspension components

Funny because I noticed that the torque steer is a lot less severe on my Auto VQ35 max versus my old Sentra SE-R Spec V. In fact, I even test drove a VQ35 Altima and noticed the torque steer to be worse on the altima. Believe it or not I hardly notice the torque steer on the max, something must be wrong for you to feel it.

Interesting thread and I forgot to mention I have the HLSD on my car and the torque steer is till pronounced. My mechanic mentioned that I needed a rear motor mount but this is after he did my exhaust and knew that it would bang because the aftermarket Y sits lower then stock. Therefore, I can't trust his diagnosis since it seems he was giving me an excuse before taking the car. The car idles fine and when I rev it the car doesn't shake. However, when I accelerate moderatley hard from 1st to 2nd the muffler bangs more so that is telling me the engine is moving but hey we have lots of HP in our engines so this might be normal. I tried to visually inspect the back motor mount but I coudn't really see it from under the hood or under the car. I also get a little wheel hop too when I really get on it.

I know the hlsd would make a difference from a stop, but I don't seem to experience very much torque steer when starting. I mainly experience it when I stop the accelerator while already rolling in 1st gear. The worst seems to be as its revving through 4k-5k (I'm assuming that this is where the hp increases at a drastic rate). If I floor it through this range I just try to maintain a firm grip on the steering wheel.

I can also feel it quite easily when you pop the clutch from one gear to the next.

So either there is something wrong with my HLSD or I do have a bad motor mount which is creating the torque steer. Does this seem right.

I noticed the opposite. When in turns with my Spec-V I noticed a tremendous amount of torque steer due to the HLSD, with the Auto non-HLSD max it is non-existant.

No problems at all when i am cornering fast. There is this corner on my way home from work that i love to fly around. And with my auto the car always seem unstable and like it was only getting power to one wheel, but now with the 6sp w/hlsd it just pulls through the turn without any power loss.
