What will happen if...?

What will happen IF i replace/swap the Engine computer of my 2003 Maxima with an Engine computer from 2002 Maxima with less miles>? Would my car take it and work with it fine? Would it create any problems/engine check lights, etc? Where is the mileage information stored?
The reason i am asking is because i have a spare engine computer from 2002 Maxima and i would like to chip it and keep my stock one intact. However, when i swap them, i don't want to fry/break something.
I've done this before on Audi S4 and A4 with 2.8, but i need to know how the Maxima will take it. Anyone done it?

Thanks!

oh its easy! yeah when you put the one with less miles in, your engine will think the car has less miles thus the engine will perform much like a newer vehicle! go ahead try it! hope you have warranty! just in case it doesnt work out!

what???? how would an engine perform like a newer vehicle???
as engine wears out, the sensors send different info into the computer, and it adjusts timing/air/fuel ratios, etc, etc. over time.
the new ecu would start reading all the sensor info, and adjust itself to fit the enine's needs. so if it's an engine with high milage, the car will drive like a car with high milage, new ecu or not.

by the same token, a car with 200k miles with an ecu with 20k miles would magically transform into a brand new behaving vehicle????

if you are considering anything besides the technosquare ecu then save your money. the "chips" for the audis typically work because many are turbo and the new settings typically raises boost levels. the technosquare l spec could raise your rev limiter and dump the top speed limiter.

I think the computer would have to be reflashed to work. Technosquare says they will take your computer and another computer and reflash the new one to work with your car. That way you could return to stock or tune with one for different conditions... whatever. If the computers were plug and play they wouldn't be offering that service and charging $150.00 for it.

A call to Technosquare could answer the question.
