How can an intake take out a throttle body???? I cannot picture this.

That usually happens when someone RE-oils their air filter too much after cleaning.

or when the filter is over-oiled originally, which ive also seen... either way you cut it, oil based filters filter better when dirty, and not so well when new, and small droplets of oil tend to make it out of the filter and on to the hot wire.

I had apex which is a dry filter...all 4 MAF blew while using apex.

okay, thx for the info

you mentioned something about a filter test. does that apex filter filter better than or equal to stock?

A filter test I saw a few years ago which consisted of an HKS filter, Apex'i filter, K&N filter, and a stock filter for a car. The HKS had worst filtration, while Apex'i was best. The Apex'i also won the flow test, while HKS was second,

i forgot the website but it did two tests to show all aftermarket air filters' air flow and filtration (k&n, hks, apex, monsterflow...etc and it shows that apex has the best filtration along with air flow but down side is that its is a $80 replacement. The worst was hks i remember. Thats the reason I went with apex.
