anyone know if the rear deck would accept the i30 deck with rear sunshade... that'd be nifty...

 

Can't tell you for sure but I can tell you this:
My dad has a 2000 I30 with the moonroof/sunshade delete option. Yes, that's right, a reverse option. The rear deck appears to be the same as a Maxima. It's easy to spot because it uses the same center high mount stop light (CHMSL) as the Maxima - narrow, one bulb design vs. wide, 5 bulb design. He wanted it without the moonroof/sunshade because he never used the moonroof in the old 86 Maxima and it eventually developed rattles, wind noise, and rust spots. Couldn't see the need for a sunshade because we always get the windows tinted.

 

call the junk yards and if I can find a rear deck with a motorized sunshade... I bet $$$$

 

Just make sure to get the right color...
Another issue: The switch for the sunshade is in the center console. And since Max/I30 have different consoles, and the Max is not available with a sunshade, maybe there's no place for the switch. And maybe the car isn't wired for the switch or the shade. Lots of technical considerations. You would need to talk to a knowledgeable Nissan/Infiniti parts guy.
Also, I'm curious why you want a sunshade so bad. Doesn't window tint do the same thing?

It is cool, and works even if you have the windows tinted anything less then limo style. It gets conversation all the time, plus you can attach a "Smoked Yea" Sign to it, and hit the button when you pull ahead

Anyhow, it would cost alot as it became standard on the I30 for only about a year, so not much of a demand for that part and is likey not worth it unless you find one low cost and will install it yourself.

What I want to do is get the new Q's side mirrors, with the LED turn signals

 

The part #'s for the I30 parcel shelf w/o the shade are the same as a Maxima. Infiniti list on the shade assembly is $929.35, the parcel shelf ranges from $137.23 to $296.73, depending on color. Better check the boneyards!

 

that *is* expensive. I'll make a few calls, although my experience is that the junkyards are 95% retail :/
