5.5gen HORN idea!

Well, i was really annoyed how crappy our horns are.. so i found a website for OEM products, and i ordered the 6gen horns.. they cost me $6/ea shipped. I can't think of the website, but wow.. what a difference!! Put them in - in about 30 mins.. didnt feel like taking the grille of, went from the top, time comsuming, but effective. just an idea for you guys! Hella horns are expensive, and probably sound just like a 6gen max.

I added a sound clip link down below... - see below...

i got the camry horns and they're a lot louder than stock ones- although probably still lags slightly behind the stock 350z or hella ones.

Hell no get some Piaa sport horns. They run about $40 with a 120dB 400hz horn and another 120dB 500hz horn. Well worth the money easy install. I like them much better than the hella horns. I tried hella and fram on my jeep piaa is better, louder.

hella is 118db its the hella twin supertone horns, direct plug and play with only needing to add an aditional ground directly from one horn. more product info, www.hella.com, they are made in germany for the autobahn, so this should tell you that they are loud.

good luck

....for the Hella Supertones. Make sure you get the German ones. Some are now made in India.

the only thing i dont like about the hella horns is that the high pitch kind of resembles the stock maxima's horn (though much louder)...the horns that i like are the deeper sounding ones....does the Z have a kind of deep, single tone horn? if so, i'm definitely going for that, because i hear that it's pretty loud as well...the thing is, i can't seem to find anything other than that stupid 'Z sport' horn, which supposedly isn't as loud....anybody know where to find one?

I was able to get a little clip of the horn. You'll need to download a google viewer, but its quick and free... let me know what you think.

EDIT: scratch that...i just found a site that carries them...what, exactly is the 'anti-theft' horn? there's that one and then there's the 'low-note' one here: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...d=722&chapter=

one is anti and one is low note.. they are both low note, but the anti is a little dull. i guess thats the best way to describe it. low and crisp is the low tone.. but i'm really happy. $12 shipped brand new OEM, is a heck of an upgrade! (IMO)

I've got the German Hella SuperTones and a compact 139dB air horn. It's so loud that the first time I used the horn, it scared the woman who was cutting me off so much she slammed on the brakes and almost got rear-ended...

Hella superhorns are the way to go....they are really loud! they're pretty much plug and play besides the ground wire, and they look awsome. Good luck with your decision, but just to let you know, you will not be going wrong with the Hella horns. Got them for $65 shipped, or you can purchase from GD for around $60 shipped.
