getting a bit frustrated!

what do you guys think.. this is whats happening.

"BRAKE" light: It comes on once and while while driving, sometimes it blinks, sometimes it stays on... if you tap the center counsel from the passanger side, it goes out.. then comes on.. so it could be a sensor or something?? i tried adjusting that nut when you raise the e brake, but that didnt fix it.. suggestions?

"Door OPEN" light. its on when the doors open, its semi off when the doors are closed... it seems like it dims.. i thought maybe it gets light from another bulb, but with all bulbs off, and the lights off, the light still seems lit very very DIMMED!!! what the heck?? I love MAXIMAS but little things like this **** me off!

and my BOSE is also acting up.. left channel out, right channel out, both out! WTF!

One that brake light issue is out of my league, I however am sitting in a nissan service lounge so I will ask a tech. Boses are pieces of s-hit. They are known for that problem. I janked mine out and installed a whole new system Pioneer with polk dbs. I am not sure about the maxima bose system but on my pathfinder if you replace the headunit you have to replace everything speakers etc... So save your self the trouble go on http://www.crutchfield.com and buy a new headunit and fitting your budget speakers. 6" in front 5 1/4" in back. If you have a warrenty left they will hassel you and just keep replacing the HU.

Your brake light is probably the emergency swithc located on the bracket of the handle. I took mine apart to replace the bags on my 95 and it did not seat all the way.

The door switch is on the mid post down low betweeen the rear and front doors push it all the way in and see if the light goes off. If not the switch is bad. You can replaceit in about 25 seconds if you can find another. I have a parts car but will not be able to get to it for a few days. As far as the Bose nissan screwed up when the got away from the externally amplified units. Too much heat in the unit. Get another one on ebay or Go get an aftermarket unit.

for the brake light issue, just check all the brake bulbs...one may be loose...i had the same exact issue after changing a brake light bulb and finally it just fell out which caused the light to stay on....

In the center console there is a connection to the micro switch that tells you if the emergency brake handle is pulled up. If it is loose at all(the switch or the plug) the light comes on.

As far as the door light open up one off the doors. Push the switch all the way in if the light goes out you've found the bad switch. Continue on till you figure out witch one is shorting out.

Brake Level good.. that was the first thing that i checked.
Owners manual just tells you if you keep experiancing problems contact your local dealer, and get that check book out!

if not, THEN tear apart your console looking for ... whatever.
